Jason Chan's Concert Stop In Toronto

WRITING + PHOTOGRAPHY BY Peter K.C. Ho

As a photographic artist and a professional image creator, I treasure every moment of capturing the soul of artists’ devoted performance on stage.

As a longtime fan of Hong Kong Canadian Canto-pop singer Jason Chan, I felt like magic to have experienced a deeply joyful photoshoot engagement at the Jason Chan: The Fight Goes On World Tour 2023《 陳柏宇: 世界巡迴演唱會 》多倫多站, held at the P.C. Ho Theatre of the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto on August 2 & 3.

It’s my honour to collaborate first time with this concert’s co-organizers: SONY MUSIC HONG KONG and Toronto-based SPOT ON MEDIA.

As a millennial, Jason keeps earning admirable respect from fans of diverse age groups including baby boomers such as myself.  He debuted under Sony Music in 2006, and has been dubbed by the Hong Kong media as the music industry’s “hidden master”.  True, no wonder why I have been a fan of Jason Chan for many happy years.

Fans have been cheerfully amazed by Jason’s success and wonderful opportunity to perform as the first Hong Kong artist to appear on the Japanese YouTube channel ‘The First Take’ in 2023, including his recent song ‘One Day’ which grossed one million views in seven days and trended No.1 in Hong Kong.

My most favourite songs of Jason: 《有天》、《你瞞我瞞》、《別怕失去》、《對得起自己》are most beautifully and emotionally appreciated at this concert.  His performance and brilliant synergy with fans in this concert are genuine and celebrating, as Jason’s songs are enlightening, inspiring and richly infused with positivity mirrored in our challenging life journeys.

Work life of a professional image creator is complex, challenging and probably sometimes suffocating: Intensive research, pre-planning, execution precision, post-production till final fine-tuned images delivery.  The great thing is.. while doing assignment in concert, myself as a professional image producer can spiritually “enjoy the show” while effectively working in sync with the beautiful production flow in the fast lanes.

Above all: feeling great to see my beloved multi-talented Canto-pop singer Jason Chan to have performed super successfully in a brilliant concert in Toronto.

Bravo, to Jason Chan 陳柏宇!!
