In 2021, the Fête Chinoise Love at Mid-Autumn Campaign brought our community together during the pandemic through this innovative campaign, demonstrating cultural thought leadership in the Chinese-Canadian community and Canadian community at large. We donated $40,000 net to the mental health programme at Markham Stouffville Hospital and delivered our signature heart-shaped mooncakes in a nostalgic tin to many families across the country. It was a successful design-driven pilot project that overcame a challenge-ridden pandemic year. And it doesn’t stop there!
In 2022, our mission to Move Culture Forward celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival with philanthropic spirit. We will spread love + hope with our heart-shaped mooncakes, with 100% of campaign proceeds to benefit the SickKids Foundation. In a year of war and racism, we specifically chose the Herbie Fund Programs and the Ukrainian Paediatric Assistance Fund, because “where you live (or come from), shouldn’t determine whether you live.”
Fête Chinoise collaborates with Canadian favourite, Saint Germain, to produce four signature heart-shaped mooncakes with 2 egg yolks and lotus paste, freshly baked in Canada and packed into a collectible limited edition Designer tin. Each set will be sold for $98 CAD + hst and comes with a complimentary copy of the Inaugural Fête Chinoise Summer Edition: the Design Annual! You can also enjoy some special gifts inside the tin from each of our sponsors!
MOONCAKE GIFT SETS
FRESHLY BAKED • 100% FOR CHARITY • LIMITED QUANTITY • CANADIAN DESIGN
The 4 full-sized iconic heart-shaped mooncakes will be presented in the 2022 collector’s edition tin. The annual tin design is a passion project of Creative Director Deborah Lau-Yu’s and the team at Palettera. "This year's design, presented in fresh, summery colours, is inspired by my family heirlooms, which is something in common with many diaspora families in Canada and also in Asia: 萬壽無疆 the ‘Endless Longevity’ design. The colourful porcelain plates and bowls that grace thousands of dinner tables are often overlooked in our everyday, arguably mundane in some contexts where it’s been translated into plastic replicas, but represents a special branch of the Famille Rose family of Chinese porcelain history.”
The history of these universal recognizable porcelain plates used by Chinese families for decades from every region is explored in our inaugural Design Annual by Asian Art Specialist Amelia Zhang.
IN EACH MOONCAKE gift SET YOU’LL RECEIVE:
Collectable mooncake tin contains 4 signature heart-shaped mooncakes with 2 egg yolks and lotus paste.

A FEW QUICK notes
The Mid-Autumn Festival is Saturday, September 10, 2022.
LIMITED SUPPLY, AVAILABLE ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS.
All mooncakes are freshly baked in Canada by Saint Germain. Pickups and deliveries will take place starting the week of August 26, 2022! We will contact you the week beforehand to make arrangements.
Courier service to individual addresses available at $30 + hst per address within GTA.
Each tin will be numbered and come with special gifts including a Harry Rosen voucher, Saint Germain coupon and gift voucher for Ferris Wheel Press.
The mooncakes will taste best 6-8 weeks after being baked — the oil and saltiness from the egg yolks will then be emulsified with the white lotus seed paste to provide a smooth and harmonious palate.
The shelf life of the mooncakes can be as long as 6 months if refrigerated well. (Tips: after refrigeration, the mooncakes will taste better if they are brought back to room temperature)
100% of donations and proceeds from mooncake sales will benefit the SickKids Foundation Herbie Fund and Ukrainian Paediatric Assistant Fund.
