The 5th CCYAA Celeb Classic returned to the Mattamy Athletic Centre this year, marking another star-studded event where incredible individuals from various fields came together on the court for a good cause. This year, the all-day festival moved indoors, offering more to explore and providing guests with a full day of fun experiences. As a long-time partner and supporter of CCYAA, Fête Chinoise was thrilled to see Asian representation shining brightly.
Before the main game in the evening, the festival featured FreshFest and the Youth Jam Community Show during the day. FreshFest, a vibrant cultural market, hosted leading Asian-owned businesses such as A-Sha x Super Noodle Company, Hong Shing, Roselle Desserts x Steven Tran Chocolates, Sisters & Co, KayTran Eyewear, Bowl Cut Paper Goods, and more, fulfilling attendees’ wishes through diverse offerings.
The Youth Jam Variety Show provided a family-friendly experience on the court, featuring performances by Savio Joseph, Vybe Dance Company, The Singing School, and more. Celebrity appearances included Simu Liu, Jeremy Lin, and Gordon Cormier. Interactive hands-on sections were available for children and families to enjoy, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The highlight of the evening, the Charity Basketball Game, began at 6:30 p.m. with the introduction of the lineup. Led by Simu Liu and Jeremy Lin, the lineup comprised aspiring actors like Justin Chien, Sam Li, Gordon Cormier, Olivia Cheng, and Saara Chaudry; NBA legends Jason Williams and Matt Bonner; award-winning artist Tyler Shaw; and viral content creators such as The Fung Bros (Andrew Fung and David Fung), CantoMando (Ed Leung, Sheldon Ho, Mike Wu), Tiana Shern, Phil Wang, and Helen Wu. Dominique Wilkins and Jack Armstrong served as the coaches for this star-studded lineup.
At Fête Chinoise, we were honoured and excited to support the evening by gifting limited copies of our Annual Book of Incredible People: Edition 9 during the game, to commemorate our special ties with CCYAA and our support for this dazzling night of Asian representation.
The proceeds from the night will support sports programs and community initiatives for disadvantaged youths in the GTA, facilitated by CCYAA, as well as the Jeremy Lin Foundation. Scroll down for more photos!
