Fête Chinoise is so excited for our launch of the 2021 Magazine this month, after a year of doing work very differently and physically distanced. We wish all of our readers good health, peace, and joy as we enter the holiday season. During this challenging journey of 2020 for all of us, there was a tiny window of time during the local lockdowns, where we could spend time with our team of collaborators (listed in the credits) to physically create and shoot together, albeit masked and with all precautions taken. We cherish this memory and thank all whom were involved in making it happen!
Now let’s have some light hearted fun together! We present some behind-the-scenes teasers from our photoshoot, featuring one of our favourite Chinese-Canadian celebrities. Can you guess who he might be? — yes, there’s your first hint, it’s a he!
Clue #1
Our celebrity is native to Coquitlam, British Columbia. The sixth largest city in British Columbia is home to the largest French-speaking communities in Western Canada. He moved to Toronto to continue pursuing his career in music. We suppose this is two clues in one!

Clue #2
This male celebrity understands and knows how to speak a little bit of Cantonese and his goal is to learn more Mandarin in the coming years. Some of the songs he fondly remembers from childhood were from Cantonese superstars of the 90s. On his album covers, he usually includes both his English and Chinese name.

As a musician, he plays the guitar and piano. He also composes his own music. Early on in his career, he went on tour with American pop star, Selena Gomez. Later, his own single would reach double platinum status!
